Warden ag teacher wins award

WARDEN — Shanna Golladay received an award for having students learn through work-based learning and community partnerships in Moses Lake.

The Washington Association of Agriculture Educators in Spokane gave Golladay the District 9 ‘Teachers Turn the Key’ award.

It honors teachers encouraging students to be involved with agricultural education and the Future Farmers of America (FFA).

“Shanna is unfailingly positive and cares deeply about the school and community,” said Chris Rust, Warden High School Principal.

Golladay teaches floriculture and horticulture at Warden High School and is an advisor for the Moses Lake FFA. She also oversees student leadership, such as student council. 

“Whenever somebody needs something that might benefit the kids, she steps right up,” Rust said. “She always manages to exceed expectations.”

Born and raised in Warden, Golladay contributed in many ways to her community over the years, Rust said.

“I’m impressed with her leadership and organization,” Rust said. “She continues to do amazing stuff.”
