Adult classes offered through Parks and Rec

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Parks and Recreation Department will continue with their adult recreation classes beginning this week.

Recreation opportunities begin this evening with adult golf lessons at Hylander Greens Golf Course on 1475 E. Nelson Rd. in Moses Lake. The purpose of the adult golf class is to help participating individuals learn the basics of golf using various clubs with the help of personal instruction. The class is reserved for a maximum of 16 participants.

Opportunities continue Wednesday evening with the first adult horsemanship and riding classes for September. The adult horsemanship and riding classes will provide participating adults with an opportunity to experience horseback riding.

The Moses Lake Parks and Recreation Department’s September adult classes will also include race walking clinic for fitness and health begins Thursday, Sept. 10 and concludes Saturday, Sept. 12 at Neppel Landing. The race walking clinic for fitness and health is a two-part clinic held between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sept. 10, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sept. 12. The clinic is designed to show proper race walking form for fitness and health benefits.

Ages: 18 years and older.

Dates: Wednesdays, Sept. 2 through Sept. 30.

Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Location:  Hylander Greens, 1475 E. Nelson Rd. in Moses Lake.

Cost:  $50.00 per person.

Adult Horsemanship and Riding Classes

Ages:  16 years and older

Dates: Thursdays, Sept. 3 through Sept. 24.

Times:  5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m for beginner and intermediate riders. 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for advanced for advanced riders.

Location:  JT Ranch, 2167 NE Valley Rd. Cost:  $140.00 per person, $125.00 spouse or sibling discount.

Race Walking Clinic for Fitness & Health

Ages:  All ages welcome.

Dates:  Thursday, Sept. 10  and Saturday, Sept. 12.

Times:  Sept. 10 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.; Sept. 12 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Location:  Neppel Landing picnic shelter on West Broadway and Alder Street in Moses Lake

Cost:  $15.00 per person
