Lady Lions handle Jaguars
MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Christian Academy Lady Lions wrapped up their North Central Washington 1B conference volleyball schedule with a share of second place following a three-game sweep of the Easton Jaguars.
The Lady Lions held off the Jaguars in games one and two before rolling past Easton in game three to complete the sweep. The Moses Lake Christian Academy held on for a 25-19 victory in game one and a 25-17 victory in game two before taking control early in a 25-11 game-three victory.
The victory Tuesday night was the Moses Lake Christian Academy’s third straight and helped the Lady Lions finish the season 10-3 in conference play and 10-3 overall. The Lady Lions swept the Columbia Basin Secondary School Oct. 24 before holding on to beat Thorp Monday night to move into a second-place tie with the Tigers.
Kristina Firouzi led the Lady Lions with 13 aces from the service line and added nine assists. Chelsea Yarbro and Susan Timofeyev added eight kills each and Rachel Verhage had nine assists and a block.
