Hitting camp begins next week

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Parks and Recreation Department is holding baseball and softball hitting classes beginning Monday with former major league player Greg Smith.

Smith is the founder and head instructor of Hit to Win Baseball Camps and is a current major league scout.

The first of the five-day hitting class sessions will begin Nov. 2, and continue Nov. 4, 10, 11 and conclude Nov. 16.

The second session will begin Nov. 30 and continue Dec. 2, 7, 9 and conclude Dec. 14.

Classes for boys and girls ages 7 to 9 years old will take place between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. and lasses for boys and girls 10 to 12 years old will take place between 6:05 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. during the scheduled days.

Cost for the hitting classes is $90 per person per session and the classes will stress the fundamentals of hitting.

Class participants will learn physical skills and the mental approach to hitting to become the best batter possible.

More dates may be added and private hitting lessons with Smith are available.
