Wilma 'Ermagene' McDaniel
Wilma “Ermagene” McDaniel was born December 19, 1919, in St. John, Kansas. She passed away peacefully on October 8, 2009, in the Samaritan hospital in Moses Lake, WA.
Proceeding her in death was one daughter, Rose Elizabeth, and one son, Darrell Lyn, and husband Daniel of 70 years marriage.
Survivors include on sister Ethel Amick of Topeka, Kn, one brother Howard Lawrence of Whitchta, Kn; four daughters, Ruth Lynch and Reva Vanerstrom of Moses Lake, Roberta Parker of Kirkland, WA, and Katie Strand of Springfield, Oregon; five sons, Eugene McDaniel of Moses Lake, Gale McDaniel of Pateros, WA, Gary McDaniel of Pensacola, Florida, David McDaniel of Moses Lake, WA, and James McDaniel fo Springfield, Oregon; 28 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
In her early years she moved to Dodge City, Kansas with her parents Fred and Elizabeth Lawrence. She and her parents were active members of “The Salvation Army Church.”
Ermagene and her parents endured the terrible Kansas dust storms in the 1930s, and the depression years.
She married Daniel McDaniel on June 29, 1939 in Cimarron, Kansas, together, they had eleven children.
Ermagene loved and trusted the Lord with all her heart and was a great prayer warrior. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother to her children.
Ermagene, husband and children moved to WA in 1954. Her husband Daniel known as “Mac,” worked as an auto mechanic in Ephrata, WA. Ermagene worked in the little greyhound bus stop cafe, called (The Pantry Shelf) right next door to where her husband Daniel worked.
Ermagene, known as “Erma,” was head cook for many orchard harvest crews in Entiat, WA and in Bridgeport, WA.
Ermagene and family moved to Oregon for a short time in the late 1950s and early 1960s. She worked as a clerk in the Salvation Army thrift store. She was also head cook for the church camp while living in Oregon.
The family moved back to Washington state.
She and her family were members of the Assembly of God church.
Her interest was family, church, bible study, camping, crafting and she loved to travel. She loved to work with her hands. She sewed home made clothes for her children and later for her grand children, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She loved making home made crafts for all her family and friends. She spent many loving hours making crafts for special occasions for each of them.
Her passion in love for the Lord and God’s word was the thread that held her together. She was a great prayer warrior.
Her family and friends will miss her more than words can express.
What a legacy you left us mom.
You taught us all to know, love, serve, trust and follow the Lord. Your great example to each of us will give us strength to get through all our hard times to come.

Funeral services were held October 13, 2009 in the Ephrata Memorial Christian Church. Officiating was pastor Ryan of the Assembly of God Church from Moses Lake, WA. Pastor Ryan gave the Eulogy in honor of our beloved mother Ermagene. A meal for the family and friends was prepared by the ladies of the Memorial Christian Church.
Nicholes Funeral Home in Ephrata was in charge of arrangements.
