MOSES LAKE CITY COUNCIL

| October 22, 2009 9:00 PM

As I take my daily drive to and from work through downtown Moses Lake, particularly as I cross Third Avenue, I often think of Ron Covey and the terrific leadership he provided in finally seeing to the downtown improvements, particularly on Third Avenue where there used to be few cars or people and now on most days it is crowded — just what was needed.

Ron has also provided the necessary effort, leadership and perseverance to see many other projects of distinct benefit to Moses Lake come to fruition, including the new fire station headquarters, the Japanese Peace Gardens and adjoining park now under construction, the Lauzier Athletic Complex, Sinkiuse Square, Larson Recreation Center ice skating rink and BMX track, the Flowrider and lazy river at the water park and two new additional 5-acre city parks now under construction.  And, all of these projects, and several others too numerous to mention, have been done without the City incurring any major outside debt and being able to stay out of the volatile credit markets.

I thank you, Ron Covey, for your leadership in making Moses Lake a much better and more attractive place to live and whole-heartedly support your re-election.
