Grant County Prosecutor

| October 22, 2009 9:00 PM

As election day approaches, more and more questions arise in my mind about Angus Lee.

First, Mr. Lee fired several people in the Prosecuting Attorney’s office and then said they quit because they didn’t like the new office procedures.

Then, he asked a judge in Seattle to vacate his drunk driving conviction, and said that he was serving in the public sector. Mr. Lee failed to provide full disclosure that he was seeking appointment to be Grant County’s interim Prosecuting Attorney.

At last Friday’s voter forum at the American Legion, Mr. Lee emotionally recounted how his father had to wrestle with asking that a man face the death penalty. The way he twisted it, I, and I’m sure others, assumed that his father was the prosecuting attorney in the case. No – his  father represented the defendant!

Now, I read that Mr. Lee has conveniently forgotten about a district court judge’s traffic accident that the evidence clearly indicates he knew about.

In addition to this string of distortions and half-truths, at the American Legion forum I witnessed him being disrespectful and angry. I applaud all those who “held their cool” as he angrily lashed out at Randy Bracht and rudely put down Albert Lin’s father.

Finally, he is abusing the power of his office by taking time off during normal working hours to campaign while forbidding his opponent Albert Lin from doing the same and threatening deputy prosecutors who want the truth disclosed.

Deceitful, disrespectful, short-tempered, unfair . . . How long would this list get if Mr. Lee was elected?

Fortunately, we have a better candidate, Albert Lin. He is honest, impartial, and experienced, with a proven track record of success.

Please join with me in electing Albert Lin as Grant County’s Prosecuting Attorney.
