GRANT COUNTY PROSECUTOR

| October 15, 2009 9:00 PM

I am writing to ask that voters in Grant County support Angus Lee for prosecutor in November.

We generally accept that experience is gained many different ways. This is the basis of a promotion; the experience gained in one position adds to qualification for the next position.

We all have met someone wise beyond their years, or simple despite their years. Thus, we see that age is unimportant.

This is true in this prosecutor’s race. Angus has experience and wisdom beyond his years, making him the most qualified person for the job. I’m not implying that Lin has neither experience nor wisdom. Instead, I’m saying Angus is one of those unique individuals who clearly stands out among his peers.

The prosecutor’s job is to manage the prosecutor’s office – not to be the most experienced attorney in the county, not to lead on every case, not to be the courtroom star. Take a look at RCW, Chapter 36.27 online; besides giving a managerial description of duties, it also refrains from setting a qualifying age or any other qualification than membership in the bar.

Angus has proven that he can lead. He managed a special operation team in combat. He juggled both military service and law school. He is currently managing the prosecutor’s office with exceptional skill. County officials and departments at all levels claim he is offering them unprecedented service, as well as improving the general office morale.

Most importantly to us, the voters, he is the first to publish the office’s budget and the first to ask us what we expect from the Prosecutor’s Office. That’s right – our public servant actually asked us for direction!

Why would we want to give that up? We don’t. Please vote for Angus Lee in November.
