After school sports program sign-ups near

MOSES LAKE — Registration for the Moses Lake Parks and Recreation Department and the Moses Lake School District’s free after school sports programs is approaching.

Registration for the girls basketball program is Oct. 28 and the girls basketball program begins Nov. 9 and will conclude Dec. 17.

The girls basketball after school program is available to fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students and will teach basic basketball fundamentals including skills, sportsmanship and a healthy attitude toward sports. The emphasis of the program will be on teamwork and participation.

Success of the program depends on parent participation. Coaches are necessary for the program to succeed.

The boys basketball program will begin Feb. 1, 2010 The registration deadline for the boys basketball program is Jan. 20, 2010.
