EPHRATA — Ephrata police are investigating an armed robbery reported at Short Stop fuel station on West Basin Street.

Police were dispatched to an armed robbery in progress involving a male suspect Monday night, Ephrata police reported. The male entered the store reportedly demanding money from the clerk.

Ephrata police Chief Mike Warren said Tuesday the suspect stole money but he could not reveal the amount due to the investigation.

He said there were no injuries.

The suspect fled on foot heading southeast toward the railroad tracks, police advised.

The suspect is described as standing between 5 feet 3 inches tall to 5 feet 4 inches tall with a thin build. He was apparently wearing a black coat, black stocking cap and black bandana over his face.

Police are also looking for a male customer inside the store at the time of the robbery. Warren said they are hoping to speak with the customer to gain more details about what happened to aid their investigation.
