MOSES LAKE —Three Moses Lake High School Girls Swim and Dive team members are heading to the Washington State High School Championships at the Federal Way Aquatic Center this weekend.

Sophomores Sammy Hendrickson and Courtney Schwiesow, and freshman Amber Garrett compete beginning in the preliminary competition today starting at 5 p.m.

The finals are at 5 p.m. Saturday.

Hendrickson competes in the 11-dive one meter competition and is seeded amongst the top 24, while Schwiesow will try to make some waves in the 200-meter individual medley and 100-meter breast stroke.

Schwiesow is seeded 22nd and 13th respectively.

Garrett will take part in the 200-meter freestyle as the 23rd-seed.

All three helped Moses Lake finish third in at the district championships.

“They have had an extra week of training to prepare for the state event and should be ready to compete beginning Friday,” Moses Lake Coach Tony St. Onge stated. “All three have focused on just their state events and are looking forward to a higher level of competition.”
