Jimmy Joseph Fraser

| November 5, 2009 8:00 PM

Jimmy Joseph Fraser passed away October 31 in Wenatchee, following a short illness.

Jimmy was born on October 13, 1965 in Bottineau, ND to Jim and Micki (Kjelshus) Fraser. His family moved to Washington in 1966. He graduated from Issaquah High School in 1983. He married Catherine Adelmund on July 8, 1989 and they settled in North Bend. Their son, Joe, was born in 1990. Jimmy worked with his dad in construction, building apartment complexes in western Washington. In 1992, Jimmy and Catherine moved to Moses Lake and Jimmy partnered with his dad again, building homes in Grant County. Their son, Jason, was born here in 1995. In December of 1999, he began commuting to the west side and working with his brother in construction. He later started Western Air Nail, selling nails and construction supplies. He then sold his company to Eastside Staple and Nail, and was employed by them until his death.

Jimmy accepted Jesus as his Savior and was baptized at Issaquah Christian Church in 1988. After they moved to the Basin, Jimmy and Catherine have been active in the Moses Lake Christian Church, serving on both the mission and fellowship committees.

In 2005, Jimmy and Catherine traveled to Guangzhou, China and adopted Susanna Michel MeiLan. Jimmy adored his sons and was thrilled to welcome a daughter to complete their family. Jimmy’s hobbies were 1) fishing, 2) fishing and 3) more fishing. He especially loved time spent on the lake with his children and traveling with Catherine and the kids.

Jimmy’s work ethic was strong, his love for his family even stronger and his love for Jesus stronger still. Jimmy was quick to lend a hand to anyone in need, was generous to share with others, and lived his faith daily. His desire to be in heaven was matched only by his desire to be with his family. During his illness, the circle of people praying for Jimmy literally reached around the world.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Catherine, sons, Joe and Jason and daughter Susanna, all of the home. He is also survived by his parents, Jim and Micki, of Coupeville; brother, Jon of Renton; sister Allison, brother-in-law Wade and nephews Ben and Patrick of Oak Harbor and grandmother, Sukey Fraser of Bottineau, ND and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Jimmy is also survived by countless friends who mourn his loss and are comforted in knowing that he is walking with his Savior.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 7 at the Moses Lake Alliance Church, 1100 N. Grape Drive. John J. Roberts will lead the service.

Remembrances may be sent to Moses Lake Christian Church, 1475 Nelson Road NE - Suite F, please designate Fraser Memorial in the memo. These memorials will be sent to “Love without Boundaries”, a group dedicated to improving the lives of orphans in China. Remembrances may also be made to Crossroads Resource Center, 1555 S. Pilgrim St - Suite C, Moses Lake, WA 98837. Both of these organizations were dear to Jimmy, and he believed in their missions.

Farewell, dear Jimmy. Heaven’s gain is our loss. We will see you on the other side.
