John Steven Neys II, 55, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Spokane.

At the family’s request there will be no services.

John was born Jan. 8, 1954, to Henry Ward and Sylvia E. (Darrah) Neys in Everett, Wash., where he was raised and educated.

He joined the United States Navy on May 10, 1973, and was honorably discharged on March 6, 1981.

Following his honorable discharge he was employed as a truck driver for many years.

Survivors include four children, Julie Hughes of Moses Lake; Denise Visker of Moses Lake; Stephanie Byers of Grangeville, Idaho; Patricia Neys of South Carolina, and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and his brother, Peter.
