Man shows pistol while driving in Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE — A 22-year-old Moses Lake man reportedly brandished a handgun at a vehicle carrying people he perceived to be gang members on North Stratford Road Sunday afternoon.

A vehicle carrying individuals, who were yelling, flashing gang symbols and throwing rocks at the man’s vehicle while they were driving, was traveling on North Stratford Road, Moses Lake police reported. The incident extended onto Valley Road and several citizens reported seeing the incident happen.

The 22-year-old man reportedly brandished the firearm at the suspects three times because he felt threatened by their actions, police reported.

Police contacted both drivers of the vehicles and the firearm was confiscated as evidence.

A report for charges of unlawful display of a firearm was in the process of being prepared to send to the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office. The firearm was not discharged.
