MOSES LAKE — The Central Washington Quarter Horse Association (QHA) will host the annual quarter horse show beginning today at the Grant County Fairgrounds in Moses Lake.

The Central Washinton Quarter Horse Show is an American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) sanctioned event.

The Quarter Horse Show will test horses’ abilities in multiple events such as jumping, reining, barrel racing, cutting, roping, and pole bending. There will also be halter classes judging the quarter horses on balance, muscling, and breed characteristics.

Participants and their horses can earn points to qualify for awards or prize money at the end of the year.

The quarter horse show is available to all interested competitors, said AQHA Executive Vice President Don Treadyway.

“We welcome all American quarter horse owners as well as anyone who has a passion for horses,” he said. “AQHA shows are fun, and anyone who has ever wanted to get involved with horses or compete at an AQHA show is encouraged to attend.”
