Moses Lake teams to hold weekend tryouts

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Baseball Association will hold tryouts this weekend at Moses Lake High School for the Moses Lake American Legion baseball teams the Walleyes and the Sun Devils.

The Moses Lake Walleyes are a 17-and-under baseball team that plays more than 40 games in the Tri-Cities American Legion League. The Walleyes are coached by Moses Lake head coach Ed McNamara and Derek O’Konek.

The Moses Lake Sun Devils are a 16-and-under baseball team that will play more than 40 games around the area.

The Sun Devils will also compete in the Washington State Junior A American Legion Tournament held in Moses Lake July 31 through Aug. 5.

The Sun Devils are coached by Quintz Whitaker and Jeremy Vasquez.

Tryouts will be held Saturday, May 9 at 5 p.m., and Sunday, May 10 at 2 p.m. at the Moses Lake High School baseball fields.

Eligible players must have completed their first year of high school and have not graduated.

Participant fees for the season are $450 per player.
