MOSES LAKE — After sweeping the Sunnyside Grizzlies Tuesday afternoon to wrap up their regular season, the Moses Lake Chiefs baseball team moved into a three-way tie atop the Big Nine’s Columbia Division.

The Chiefs concluded their 2009 regular season with a 9-3 Columbia Division record and Moses Lake finished the season tied with Kennewick and Southridge for the division title and the top seed in the playoffs.

With Moses Lake, Kennewick and Southridge tied atop the Columbia Division standings, the Chiefs will play Kennewick at 4 p.m. Friday afternoon at Big Bend Community College.

The winner of Friday’s contest will move on to play Southridge at 1 p.m. Saturday at Richland High School while the loser of Friday’s game will be the Columbia Division’s No. 3 seed heading into the playoffs.

Southridge drew a lower number than the Chiefs and the Lions before the season began and the Suns won the right to await the Moses Lake-Kennewick winner.

The winner of Saturday’s contest with Southridge will be the Columbia Division’s No. 1 seed and Saturday’s loser will be the division’s No. 2 seed.
