Moses Lake home receives minor fire damage

| May 4, 2009 9:00 PM

MOSES LAKE — Grant County Fire District 5 responded to a structure fire on Road 4 Northeast near Moses Lake Friday morning.

The fire began in the electrical panel in a bedroom of a double-wide mobile home, said Battalion Chief Leonard Johnson. Firefighters turned off the power and extinguished the flames with water.

The fire did not spread beyond the wall where the panel is located.

It took about five minutes to put out the fire, he said.

The 11 firefighters remained at the scene for about an hour and a half to ensure the fire was out and to ventilate the smoke from the home.

There were no injuries, Johnson said.

The home owner called the emergency in to dispatch and exited the home.
