WARDEN — Warden police are seeking a male involved in a drive-by shooting Tuesday evening.

At about 4:15 p.m., two rounds, believed to be from a handgun, were fired by a male driver of a white Ford Ranger, Warden Police Chief Rick Martin said. Once the rounds were fired, the male fled toward Adams County and police were unable to locate him.

There did not appear to be anyone else inside the truck, he said.

The 18-year-old and 19-year-old males, who were shot at, were standing in a yard in front of a residence near Volunteer Park, Martin said. The two friends were visiting each other.

The two males are believed to be affiliated with a gang but they were unable to identify if the shooting suspect was connected to a gang, he said.

“It’s unfortunate that these things happen,” Martin said about the shooting.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office and the Othello Police Department were notified of the incident due to the direction the suspect fled, he said.

Anyone with information about the incident can contact the Warden Police Department at 509-349-2022.
