MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake High School student reportedly struck a security guard with his car in the school parking lot and fled Friday morning.
The security officer did not require medical attention.
Information about the incident was released Monday.
The 16-year-old male reportedly struck the security officer with a 1990 Toyota Camry in an alleged attempt to avoid contact with police after exhibiting suspicious activity, Moses Lake Police Capt. Dave Ruffin said.
The student reportedly fled and was later contacted shortly after the incident by Moses Lake police, Ruffin added.
The teenager was arrested for assault in the second degree, felony hit-and-run and resisting arrest, according to a police report.
Police impounded the car and executed a search warrant the same day.
