| March 5, 2009 8:00 PM

MOSES LAKE — The Grant County Coroner’s Office determined Heather Hurley Smith, 30, Moses Lake, died of natural causes stemming from a diabetic problem.

Smith was found dead in a home just outside of Moses Lake along Stratford Road Dec. 2, 2008.

Initial reports from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was that her death was suspicious  due to her state of undress and being located in a bedroom of a vacant home once occupied by her ?boyfriend, who was murdered in August 2008.

Javier Martinez Adame, 53, was killed by a pipe bomb explosion in the same home.

Smith died from a diabetic issue called diabetic ketoacidosis, the coroner’s officer reported. It results in inadequate insulin levels causing significant alterations in blood chemistry.

Adame’s death remains under investigation.
