Norman Winsfield Wood

Norman Winsfield Wood was born in Harrison, Idaho, to Norman and Ethel Wood on April 17, 1924.

He graduated from high school in Elk River, Idaho, and joined the U.S. Navy in 1942, where he served aboard the USS Guadalcanal as an RMIC. Norm left the Navy in 1945. He then worked in the woods during the summers and attended the University of Idaho in fall and winter. He graduated in June of 1950 with a business degree and moved to Spokane to work for Diamond Match.

Norm moved to Moses Lake in 1951, where he met and married Ruth Perkins in 1953. She died in 1961. He became a CPA and joined Quinn and Calahan Accounting firm. The firm became Quinn and Wood and later Wood and Blessing. He retired in 1987.

In 1971, he married Betty Wilson. He is survived by Betty, four children, numerous grandchildren, a brother and two sisters.

He was a longtime Masonic Lodge member and served as a master several years.

Services to be held at Moses Lake Masonic Lodge at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
