YAKIMA, Wash. — Despite struggling from the field throughout the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association 1B girls state tournament, the Lady Warriors from Almira/Coulee-Hartline knocked off Neah Bay 39-30 for fifth place.

ACH head coach Ben Addink said he was proud of the way his team continued to fight at the state tournament.

“We didn’t shoot the ball particularly well and we are a perimeter team,” he said. “The girls kept their heads up and we won three games ugly.”

The Lady Warriors did not trail in the second half against Neah Bay and ACH improved to 24-2 this season.

Sarah Gloyn led ACH with 10 points and Megan Osborn grabbed 11 rebounds.

Although his team didn’t win the state championship, Addink said he is proud of his team’s performance this season.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our team,” he said. “They are a fun group of girls.”
