Childers to lead Chiefs cross country
MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake Athletic Director Loren Sandhop made two coaching changes last week when he appointed Loren Childers (cross country) and Todd Griffith (football) head coaches of their respective programs.
Moses Lake High School Counselor Loren Childers will guide the Chiefs cross country team this fall after replacing former head coach Jennifer Carpenter.
Childers graduated from Snohomish High School in 1999 before attending California State University, Long Beach (CSU-Long Beach). Childers graduated from CSU-Long Beach in 2005 and has been an assistant coach for the cross country, and track and field teams at Moses Lake for the past two seasons.
Childers ran collegiately at Washington State University before his major was dropped from the school. Childers transferred to CSU-Long Beach to continue his education.
Griffith took over the Moses Lake football program after former head coach Greg Kittrell accepted an assistant principal position with the school.
