Shirley Elberta Chambers

| June 19, 2009 9:00 PM

Shirley Elberta Chambers was born in Walla Walla, Wash., on June 13, 1940, to Joseph and Norma Stark.

She moved frequently in her early years as her father was employed with the railroad. She befriended everybody she ever met. Shirley had a flare for life matched by very few. And when she laughed, you couldn’t help but laugh with her. She was a den mother for the Cub Scouts and she loved to bowl.

Shirley met the love of her life, Pat Chambers, in 1972. They were married in 1973 and spent their lives in the Black Diamond area of Washington state until they retired to Moses Lake in 2000.

She passed away peacefully on June 11, 2009.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Norma Stark, her brother Joe and her husband and friend Patrick Chambers.

She is survived by her sons Keith Harris and his wife Kim, Walter C. Harris, Robert L. Harris and his wife Norma Jean, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and two more that just missed her, due this summer. Also surviving Shirley is her sister “Aunt” Patty Neal and her husband John, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Thursday, June 18 at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Nazarene in Moses Lake.
