Carter H. Childress

| June 16, 2009 9:00 PM

Carter H. Childress passed away unexpectedly at his home in Ballard on June 7, 2009.

Carter was born on Feb. 2, 1976, and always thought the groundhog would visit his house. He was a graduate of Sehome High School and ITT Technical Institute in Bothell. He was employed by Volt Information Systems, and worked on a server farm for Microsoft. As a child, he was always seen wearing a firehat. Carter was a big science fiction and action hero comic book fan, facilitating several sci-fi conventions, and attending “Comic-con.” As a Sci–Fi movie lover, he would wait in line to make sure he was one of the first ones at the midnight showings.

Carter is survived by his mother, Carol Starcher, his father, Steve Childress; Ken Starcher, Carol Childress; his grandparents, Marilyn Carter, Jack and Glenna Childress and Doreen Walsh; aunts, uncles and cousins, and the Seattle Sci-fi community. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association, Metropolitan Park East, 1730 Minor Ave,  # 920 Seattle, WA 98101.
