Burglar shoots man

MOSES LAKE — A 34-year-old man was shot in the arm after an unknown gunman entered an unsecured residence on North Dale Road in Moses Lake Thursday morning.

The suspect entered the residence through an unsecured door, Moses Lake police Capt. Dave Ruffin said. He fired a handgun once, striking the man.

The victim was taken to Samaritan Healthcare.

Ruffin said the shooting victim does not live at the residence. He was there visiting friends. There were two to three other people inside the residence during the attack, he said.

The suspect is described as 5 foot 6 inches tall with a medium build, Ruffin stated.

He said the motivation of the shooting is unclear but said it was not gang-realted.
