Hugh Kyle Elkins

Hugh Kyle Elkins, 84, Moses Lake resident, passed away May 26, 2009, at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, Wash.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Kayser’s Chapel with Pastor David Daugs officiating. Please join the family after the service for a light lunch at Sage Hills Golf Club, 10400 Sage Hill Road S.E. in Warden.

Hugh was born on April 10, 1925, in Rogersville, Tenn., son of the late Henry and Francis (Heck) Elkins. He was a sergeant in the Marines, serving during World War II. He was married to Macel Ellen Elkins in 1964 in Seattle. They made their home in Seattle until moving to Moses Lake in 1984. Hugh was involved in Washington State Barbers Board for many years. He was a licensed men’s hair stylist and owned several styling salons over the years. He loved to fish and hunt with friends and family He was an avid golfer and a long standing member of Sage Hills Golf Course in Warden. Hugh was a life member of the Elks Club.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Deanna Elkins and Steve and Linda Elkins; a step-daughter Elsie Schleiger; a sister, Virginia Petty and a sister-in-law, Fran Elkins; also several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
