MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Police Department is holding a meeting about gangs in Moses Lake Monday.
The meeting is slated for 7 p.m. and will be in the Council Chambers located in the police station.
“The meeting will discuss the types of gang issues our community is confronted with, as well as strategies and programs being utilized by the police department to deter youth crimes and gangs,” Moses Lake police Chief Dean Mitchell stated. “There will also be ideas and suggestions on what your neighborhood can do to assist the police department with confronting gang-related crimes.”
He said there has been a concern about youth crimes from the community as well as the Moses Lake City Council. People are concerned about the graffiti they see.
Mitchell said the police department also plans to address the topic of intimidation. Sometimes people feel intimidated by the crimes they see. He said police will also give information about how people can keep from becoming a victim of crime.
There will be a question and answer session at the end.
“People look to the police department for answers when it comes to crime,” Mitchell said.
