Moses Lake Family Triathlon is Saturday

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Family Triathlon will take place Saturday at Blue Heron Park in Moses Lake.

The Olympic-distance event will begin at 8 a.m. with the mile-long swimming leg of the race. After participants exit Moses Lake, competitors will ride bicycles down Westlake to Hanson Road and competitors will follow North Frontage Road for the remainder of the 22-mile journey before returning to Blue Heron Park. Competitors will finish the cycling portion of the race in the park before beginning the 6.2-mile run to conclude the event.

The sprint-distance event will begin at 10 a.m. with a half-mile swim. The bicycle course is 11-miles long and follows the same route as the Olympic-distance event.

After completing the cycling portion of the race, competitors will conclude the sprint-distance event with a 3.1-mile race.

The family-distance event will begin with a quarter-mile swim and then follow the same 11-mile cycling course and the 3.1-mile running course as the sprint-distance event. The family-distance event will begin after the sprint-distance event is completed.
