Diane Marie Leavitt

Diane Marie Leavitt, 63, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away peacefully at her home in Moses Lake on June 2, 2009.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 8, 2009, at the Warden Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with President Lance Leavitt conducting. Viewing will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Sunday, June 7, at Kayser’s Chapel and at the church from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Monday, June 8. Arrangements are in care of Kayser’s Chapel & Crematory. Diane was born in Marshall Town, Iowa, on Oct. 27, 1945, to Blenda and Forrest VanGilder. Her family moved from Marshall Town to Kent, Wash., in 1947, where Diane attended school. After graduation from Kent High School she enrolled at Washington State University, where she met her future husband, Richard Leavitt. They were married July 9, 1966.

Diane spent 18 years of her life working for Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake in the medical records department.

Diane is survived by her husband, Richard Leavitt; her son Todd Andrew Leavitt and family; her daughter, Tracy Strophy and family; four grandchildren, Olivia and Liam Leavitt and Rob and Carter Jolie Strophy; her sister, Donna (John) Saw of Albany, Ore.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Blenda VanGilder.
