Grant County Prosecutor

| July 31, 2009 9:00 PM

I did not intend to get involved in the Prosecutors election until I read Angus Lee’s response May 28, to Judge Jorgensen’s letter to the editor, May 14. I am endorsing Albert Lin for Prosecuting Attorney.

In his letter Judge Jorgensen cites Lee’s lack of courtroom and felony experience, “He was hired by Grant County in 2006. He had never tried a felony case in Superior Court. He had not even tried a case in Superior Court since he was appointed.” Judge Jorgensen was being a thoughtful citizen bringing to attention of the voters Lee’s lack of essential experience to be the next prosecuting attorney.

In his letter to the editor dated May 28 Lee answered Judge Jorgensen by laying down a smoke screen over his lack of experience. Did Lee defend or explain his court experience or LACK thereof? NO! he attacked Judge Jorgensen in a most unprofessional way by stating “Mr. Jorgensen felt it necessary to engage in a campaign of false and negative attacks.”

I have asked Albert Lin many probing questions about his prosecutorial experience, work ethics, team playing and the importance of running that office in a non political manner. I was impressed with Albert Lin’s intelligence, and education. His response to probing questions about his experience and his promise to make the office of Prosecuting Attorney one of teamwork, cooperation and non political. He will have my vote.

Subsequent inquiries about Albert Lin only solidified my endorsement. I wish that every voter in Grant County interested in good government could have participated in the interview with Albert Lin.

This endorsement of Albert Lin is enforced by my own experience and credentials as Grant County Prosecuting Attorney for 39 years and 20 year member on the Board of Directors of the National District Attorneys Association.
