| July 31, 2009 9:00 PM

GRANT COUNTY — Tom Dent has returned to fulfill the chairman position for the Grant County Republican Party.

“We’re looking forward to an exciting year,” he stated. “I look forward to working with others in Grant County to help recapture America and restore the republic.”

He was the chairman for seven years until 2008 when he became the state committeeman. Dent is taking the chairman position after Mike Shay stepped down from the position. He did not having enough time to perform the duties while working as an investigator for the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office, according to the party.

“Dent is looking forward to serving and leading the county,” the party reports. “Dent is known for his record of filling nearly all of the precinct officer positions in Grant County.”

He also serves as the chairman of the State Rules for Convention and Caucus Committee.

Since Dent is accepting the new title, there is a vacancy for the state committeeman position as well as the district 2 chairman and precinct officer positions.

Anyone interested in the positions can contact Dent at 509-760-6926 or party Treasurer Jake Santistevan at 509-431-3726.
