Special Olympics needs volunteers

TRI-CITIES, Wash. — Coordinators for the Special Olympics are holding softball and golf tournaments next month in the Tri-Cities and volunteers are needed for the events.

The softball tournament will be held in Pasco, Wash., while the golf tournament will be held at the Columbia Point Golf Course in Richland, Wash.

The tournaments will be held Saturday, Aug. 1.

To volunteer at either the softball or golf tournaments, contact Games Management Coordinator for Special Olympics Virginia Jones at 509-760-4129.

Prospective volunteers may also contact Susan Hodges at 509-760-7886.

Jones said volunteering with the Special Olympics is an opportunity to become active.

“It helps our special needs people be involved in the community,” she said.
