Parrie was born in Grand Cane, Louisiana, on July 28, 1912. Later she married K.C. Oliver, who passed away in 1987. They had no children.

She was a member of the Community Church of God In Christ and was a very religious Christian who read the Holy Bible daily. Throughout her life she worked at Community Action. Parrie liked to do the ordinary things in life; like fishing, cooking and spending time with friends and family. She was a very independent woman who relied solely on herself but lived her life for those around her. She helped many people throughout the community during her time with us and enjoyed being someone that people could turn to.

She lived in Wheeler for about 48 years where she met her longtime friend, Bill Walker, whom she later thought of as her own son. Although Parrie had no children of her own, she treated many people as though they were her children.

She had a wonderfully positive influence on everyone around her and set a perfect example of how life should be lived. She will be greatly missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her husband, K.C. Oliver and son, Bill Walker. Leaving behind many close loved ones who will miss her dearly.
