Christa Elfrieda Best

Christa Elfrieda Best, age 69, longtime Moses Lake resident died in her home Friday, July 10, 2009.

Christa was born May 5, 1940 in Giessen, Germany, to Joseph and Elfrieda Blanc.

Christa attended school in Germany and graduated from high school. Following high school, she attended culinary arts school. She later met and married Floyd D. Best Sr., in July of 1964, while he was serving in the U.S. Army in Germany. She came to the United States in 1979, and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1981. She traveled extensively due to Floyd being in the U.S. Army.

Christa loved to cook, fish, camp, crochet, beading and especially loved to party! She will be fondly remembered as being “the life of the party,” she really wanted people to be happy. She loved German shepherds and trained them for Schutzhund.

Christa is survived by her children Pamela and husband LaMonte Moultray of Choteau, MT, and Floyd D. Best, Jr., of Moses Lake, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Christa’s life will be celebrated at 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2009, in Moses Lake Assembly of God, 431 E. Brown Ave., Moses Lake.
