Stanley Dean Parvin

| January 30, 2009 8:00 PM

Stanley Dean Parvin gave his heart to you then he shared life, thanking you for your time; he extended his care. That is about enough emotion.

Stan was born Aug. 12, 1952, to Bud and Claris Parvin in Pullman, Wash., and moved to Moses Lake, where Stan attended high school and was highlighted in the band. He loved those white shoes! Playing drums and bass guitar, his talents shined in country, folk and rock music. Stanley loved animals, especially wolves, and was an avid defender of wildlife. A call to military service in 1972 led Stan into new skills; he was awarded certificates and badges for armorer and marksman. During his three-year tour, more than two years were served in Germany. Following the stint in the service, Stan helped friends and strangers in his work, driving taxi, growing plants at the Conservation District Nursery; listening to you. Stan learned management skills from Kentucky Fried Chicken and welding abilities derived from Big Bend’s automotive and welding classes. Varied employment included Moses Lake Parks and Recreation taking care of the Cascade Valley Park and Moses Lake School District as a groundskeeper and custodian at various schools – he was in such demand!

Stanley would like to thank each and every one of you for being there for him and becoming his friend to share life with.

Lou Gehrig’s disease has taken a great life from us this past Monday, Jan. 26, 2009; but never, never, will Stanley Dean Parvin be forgotten. He faced this transition with grace and dignity, his attitude upbeat and positive to the end.

He is survived by his sister, Patty. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 3 p.m. at Benson Funeral Home located at Fifth and Division, in Moses Lake.
