MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — Software company Intuit recently made Fortune magazine’s list of “100 Best Companies to Work for in the U.S” for the eighth year in a row.

Intuit’s Grant County connection is an emerging data center the company is building near Quincy.

The center is nearing completion and it’s expected approximately 24 people will be hired, said company spokesperson Allison Green.

Intuit’s other locations include San Diego, Plano, Texas, Tucson, Ariz., and headquarters in Mountain View, Calif., she said.

“The company is good about trying to treat all employees equally,” she said. “The company is dedicated to making sure employees are engaged and treated fairly.

“Intuit does believe fully that its continued success has to do with having talented and engaged employees,” Green noted.

“The company puts a lot of emphasis on taking care of employees, so we can take care of our customers,” she said.

Intuit company perks noted in Fortune’s article are: 100 percent health care, telecommuting, compressed workweek, on-site gym, gay-friendly benefits, on-site child care, job sharing, fully paid sabbaticals, gym discounts and gay-friendly policies.

According to Fortune, Intuit offers an on-site fitness center, subsidized gym membership, a compressed workweek, telecommuting, a nondiscrimination policy that includes sexual orientation and domestic partner benefits for same-sex couples.

Intuit’s was ranked 43rd on Fortune’s list last year and the company’s best showing was in 2007 when it placed 33rd, Green said.
