Recovered property waiting to be claimed
MOSES LAKE — The squad room at the Moses Lake Police Department is filled with items recovered from a recent slew of home burglaries.
The property was stolen from homes in Moses Lake and Grant County.
A large portion of the recovered property is clothing, said Chief Dean Mitchell. Other items include a flat screen TV, power tools, hand tools, movies, fishing equipment, a chainsaw, ammunition, electronics and a chest filled with antiques.
Some of the property has already been claimed but there are still numerous items waiting to be identified, he said.
Citizens who wish to claim property must provide proof the items belong to them by either showing a serial number for expensive items, or a detailed description for others, Mitchell said.
He hopes people who were recently burglarized will come forward.
The investigation began with a tip that led to nine arrests and 13 search warrants being used, leading to the recovery of an entire room full of private property. More arrests are expected and the investigation continues.
People interested in claiming recovered property must contact the police department at 509-766-9230.
