SOAP LAKE — The Waterville Shockers boys basketball team made the trip to Soap Lake Tuesday night to play the Eagles in North Central Washington 2B action. The Eagles dominated the Shockers on both ends of the court for a 44-28 victory.

The Soap Lake boys took to the hardwood in a game that proved to be a lesson in sportsmanship.

After the Eagles jumped out to a 11-1 lead, Soap Lake head coach Bill Pierce slowed the pace of the game.

The Eagles ended the first quarter with a five-point 11-6 lead.

Soap Lake continued to slow their attack in the second quarter, scoring six points. The Eagles defense continued to deny Waterville in the second quarter as they held the Shockers to only four points for a 17-10 lead.

The third quarter started with both teams charged up and ready to take control of the game. The boys from Soap Lake fought hard under the boards and kept Waterville’s scoring opportunities few and far between as they took a 25-21 lead into the final eight minutes.

The Eagles pushed themselves on offense in the game’s final quarter to knock off the Shockers 44-28 at home.
