Nine people arrested for series of burglaries

MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake police recently arrested nine people involved with a series of burglaries as part of a two week investigation.

The investigation utilized 13 search warrants to recover stolen property, Moses Lake police Capt. Dave Ruffin stated.

Police recovered 13 firearms and illegal narcotics, including methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana and prescription drugs.

The stolen property is believed to be from at least 10 burglaries of homes in Moses Lake and  Grant County. The investigation continues to help determine how many homes were entered in the last couple of months.

Moses Lake residents Matthew S. McNeil, 35, Carolyn J. Zarbok, 39, and Dylan E. Timpani, 20, were each arrested for burglary and felony theft on Friday.

In connection with the burglaries, six other suspects were also arrested:

• Leroy M. Lewis, 64, Moses Lake, was arrested Jan. 15 for possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and prescription drugs. Lewis was arrested again on Jan. 22 for possession of stolen firearm.

• George W. Lewis, 38, Moses Lake, was arrested Jan. 22 for possession of stolen firearms and felon in possession of firearms.

• Ronald L. Umland, 28, Moses Lake, was arrested Jan. 22 for possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

• Ashley J. Janise, 23, Moses Lake, was arrested Jan. 22 for possession of methamphetamine.

• Jimmy D. Walker, 41, Moses Lake, was arrested Jan. 22 for trafficking in stolen property and possession of stolen property.

• Jonathon P. White, 50, Moses Lake, was arrested Friday for possession of stolen property and malicious mischief in the first degree.

More arrests are expected as the investigation continues, Ruffin noted.

Moses Lake police were assisted during their search warrant execution by the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, Ephrata Police Department, Grant County Sheriff’s Office and the Warden Police Department.
