Terry Savage

| January 27, 2009 8:00 PM

Terry Savage, 59, long time Moses Lake resident, passed away suddenly in Spokane, Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009.

Terry was born to Clayton Savage and Maria McCaula in Butte, Mont., on May 17, 1949. Terry came to Moses Lake as a teenager and roamed the streets on a bicycle, wearing a cowboy hat and sixshooter with his best friend, Cecil. Terry was well known by everyone in town, and did any kind of odd job of anyone that needed help. He carried the Columbia Basin Herald newspaper for 10 years and walked his route through rain or shine. He had friends from all walks of life, as he never met a stranger.

Terry was married to Donna Sandburg and has two daughters, Donna Mae and Marie, and one step-daughter, Pauline Sandburg. Even without a biological connection, Terry considered all part of his family, these to include: Vilas and Jackie Sandburg, Larraine, Bobbie Rodney and Dawn Marie Bumgardner, John and George Sharpnack, “grandchildren” Latasha, Isaiah, Isaac Katerine, Hailie, Jacqueline, Alexander and Rachael, and his long time “helper,” Toni Cavazos.

Memorial service will be held at Benson Funeral Home, Fifth and Division in Moses Lake on Thursday at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow at New Life Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 8791 Hillcrest Drive N.E. All are invited in honor of Terry.
