Moses Lake remains perfect with meet win over Eastmont
EAST WENATCHEE, Wash. — The Moses Lake Chiefs swim team remained perfect Thursday afternoon following their 99-87 win over their Eastern Washington Swim League rival Eastmont.
The Chiefs dominated the match early when they won the first three events.
Moses Lake’s first win came in the 200-yard medley relay when Marshall Goodrich, Kyle Hickman, Sebastian Weber and Reuben Huddleston swam an event-winning 1:47.61.
Moses Lake took a 20-10 lead after two events when Chandler Byington won the 200-yard freestyle event. Weber gave the Chiefs a 29-17 lead after he won the 200-yard individual medley.
Moses Lake head coach Tony St. Onge said he was satisfied with the way his team performed Thursday.
“We swam a tough meet on the road against an always formidable opponent in Eastmont,” he said.
Although the Chiefs won the first three events Thursday, Eastmont rallied to take a two-point advantage after five events.
The Chiefs were not deterred by the deficit, winning six of the final seven events to swim to a 12-point victory over Eastmont, St. Onge said.
