QUINCY — The Quincy Jacks wrestling team hosted the Ellensburg Bulldogs Thursday night in Central Washington Athletic Conference competition.

After 14 matches, the Jacks fell 37-30 to the Bulldogs.

Ellensburg was able to capitalize on two Quincy forfeits, one at 103 pounds and another at 285 pounds, to accumulate 37 team points.

The hometown Jacks could only muster 30 points in a contest decided by forfeits, said Quincy head wrestling coach Manny Ybarra.

“(The) forfeits really hurt us tonight,” he said.

Quincy dominated the meet in the 160-pound weight classification when Quincy’s Breck Webley was able to pin Ellensburg’s Steven Boissio in the first period.

The Jacks rolled at 171 pounds when Baldo Valdovinom defeated Ellensburg’s Ben Simpson with an 11-2.

Webley’s pin was not Quincy’s lone fall of the night. The Jacks earned falls with Manny Ybarra at 135 pounds, Jordan Madrano at 145 pounds and David Benitiz at 215 pounds.

Despite four falls, Quincy’s Achilles heel proved to be an incomplete roster, spotting Ellensburg 12 points on the scoreboard.
