Chiefs dive past Blue Devils
MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Chiefs boys swim and dive team continued their winning ways Tuesday afternoon when they hosted the visiting Walla Walla Blue Devils in a dual swim meet.
The undefeated Chiefs swam to a 127-56 Eastern Washington Swim League victory in the Chiefs Dome.
Moses Lake head coach Tony St. Onge used the dual meet to help tune up his team for their upcoming contest with the league’s only other undefeated team — the Richland Bombers
“We meet the Bombers on Friday in the Chief Dome and the division championship is on the line,” St. Onge said. “We both expect to win the remaining meets.”
The Moses Lake swimmers won 11 of the 12 dual meet events, falling in only one race to the Blue Devils — the 100-yard backstroke.
After his team dominated the contest, St. Onge said he was proud of his team’s performance.
“We swam well tonight,” he said. “(We) worked hard for the win.”
The Chiefs take to the pool Friday afternoon when they host swim and dive league co-leader Richland in the Chief Dome.
