QUINCY — The owners of Short Stop food and gas in Quincy opened another business in town on Jan. 1, The Crescent Hotel.

The opening comes after owner Paul Singh spent several months looking for the right building, explained the hotel’s general manager Sandy House.

Paul Singh’s wife and co-owner Pam Singh said they decided last year to open the business.

House said the owners, Paul and Pam Singh, have friends that own many hotels and motels.

House has also worked in the hospitality business for 35 years, both in Seattle and Quincy, she explained.

The Crescent Hotel is set in a nice location in Quincy with a huge parking area for trucks and boats, House said.

She claims it’s the largest hotel in the area with 42 rooms.

The hotel is also 20 minutes from Wanapum Dam, 10 minutes from Crescent Bar, less than two minutes from Quincy’s data centers and is near the train services, House said.

Since the hotel’s opening, things are going “great,” House noted.

The business has a conference room, will wash laundry for guests and has a business area for customers where faxing and copy services are available, House said.

She said they are looking at adding a fitness room and a whirlpool area.

In April, a big dance club is visiting Quincy and will rent the entire inn, she said. The club members are from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Canada, House explained.

Others guests have come from Spokane to work on sewer and road improvements for Quincy and from all over the U.S. and the world for the data centers, she explained.

The inn’s building was a former assisted living group home, said House.

The business is also owned by Pam Singh’s brother Manraj Singh and his wife Geeta Singh, said Pam Singh.

About seven people are working at the inn now and more employees will be hired on as needed in the spring, House said.
