Laurine 'Laurie' Marie Heath

| January 8, 2009 8:00 PM

Laurine “Laurie” Marie Heath, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away Dec. 20, 2008, unexpectedly from heart failure.

Born April 12, 1928, in Pepperill, Mass., Laurie leaves behind her loving children, daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Steven Straus; daughter-in-law Vickie Heath; cherished grandchildren, Stephanie, Jennifer, Hailey and Andrew; sisters Jeanne Holzman, Nancie Caron and brother and sister-in-law Thomas and Francis Rodier. Preceding her in death, husband Donald William and son Michael David.

Laurie spent her life enjoying family, friends and her work. Much of her career was spent working as an administrative assistant for the San Juan School District and also at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, prior to moving to Citrus Heights, Calif., in 1986. She was an active member in Delta Upsilon sorority and served on the history committee at her church, Celtic Cross Presbyterian.

Two weeks prior to her death, Laurie took the trip of her life visiting her sister, Jeanne, in Hyde Park, N.Y., for Thanksgiving, where more than 20 family members celebrated together. “Mom always would say ‘love, love, love,’” said her daughter, Marsha, when saying goodbye. We will miss hearing that so much. Her friends and family will always remember her sweet and gentle nature.

A memorial service and celebration of Laurie’s life will be held at Celtic Cross Presbyterian Church, 5839 Dewey Dr., Citrus Heights, CA on Jan. 17 at noon. All are invited to attend.

On behalf of the family, we wish to express their gratitude for your many kindnesses, especially those of Pastor Grace Suwabe, evidenced in thought and deed, and for your attendance this day.
