Catherine "Kay" Fox

Catherine “Kay” Fox, of Moses Lake, died Dec. 30, 2008, in Sun City West, Ariz.

She was born Feb. 6, 1923, in Roundup, Mont., to Patrick and Irene Coggins. Kay graduated from the Mountaineers High School in Buckley, Wash.  She was the owner of Kay’s Department Store in Buckley, Wash., for more than 25 years. She opened the doors in 1955.

She is preceded in death by husband Bruce in 1978 and husband Bill in 1992 and her granddaughter Carolyn Toney in 2007.

She moved to Moses Lake in 1983. She loved dancing. She enjoyed square dancing, round dance and clogging. She was a member of the clogging grannies in Moses Lake until 2006. Over the last 20 years she enjoyed wintering in Sun City West, Ariz. She was active in the Orthopedic Guild in Buckley, Wash., and like to snow ski and knit.

She is survived by her sons, Jim (Ketzi) Toney of Issaquah, Wash., Jerry (Georgia) Toney of Buckley, Wash., five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

 Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Weeks’ Funeral Home with burial at Buckley City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38501-1942.
