McDonald's opens

MOSES LAKE — The newly rebuilt Stratford Road McDonald’s in Moses Lake opened Monday at 6 a.m. after being closed for more than three months for construction.
The new building offers an indoor children’s play area, an earth-tone decor and “almost a sit-down restaurant feel,” said Brian Wade, area supervisor with Mills Incorporated, who owns the restaurant.
With the new colors, “it’s very warm inside” and brighter, he noted.
The set-up is much more efficient and streamlined. He said there’s also more room for employees.
Store officials wanted a state of the art facility for the community and have been planning the work for about three years, Wade said.
The store is open 24 hours a day, like it was before the rebuild.
An all-day grand opening for the business is planned for Jan. 17, he noted.
Prizes will be given away during the event and Ronald McDonald will visit the restaurant and a few children’s bikes are planned as prizes.
There are not any menu changes for the new store, but there is a special offered in January with two Big Macs sold for $3, Wade said.
The restaurant was reconstructed from the ground up after being torn down in September.
During that time, employees went to work at the other Moses Lake McDonald’s on Kittleson Road, he said.
Twenty employees from the Kittleson Road location will probably be moved to the Stratford Road location, he explained.
