Thena Mae Smith

Thena Mae Smith, long time columbia basin resident passed away Dec. 22, 2008, at 3:15 p.m., with her family by her side.

She was born Jan. 23, 1914, in Ada, Okla. She met and married Charlie E. Smith in December of 1932. In 1933, they moved to Idaho where they lived until 1954. Then they moved to Warden, where she lived until April of 2005. Thena then moved to Marsing, Idaho, where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law. She had one son and four daughters.

Thena was predeeded in death by her husband Charlie E. Smith and daughter Connie Laraine, whom was killed in a car accident on her 21st birthday, and son-in-law Fred Larsen, who died July of 2008.

She was survived by daughter Mary E. Larsen, son C. Wayne Smith and wife Verna, daughter Sharla Marshall and Lyle, daughter Linda J. Melenyzer and Charlie, 14 grandkids, 56 great-grandkids and 30 great-great-grandkids.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at L.D.S. Church in Marsing, Idaho. Burial will be held in Warden later. Graveside services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Warden Cemetery.
